Speaking of the Turks
There's what looks to be a great new book about them and the Turkic people as a whole by Hugh Pope and a fascinating review of the book here (via The Corner).
Keeping a finger on the pulse of Mongolia: politics, business, culture, and more.

It's a very good book, though readers looking for the Mongols will be disappointed. It gets no farther east than the Uighurs.

I gathered from the review that it doesn't deal with the Mongols. Still, though, it looks like a fascinating read.
Not to change the subject, but the Carnival of Revolutions is up, and you're in it.
Come on by.
